Dear Toto,

I feel like a modern-day Dorothy who instead of being transplanted by a tornado to Oz, has moved to the South for college. I consider my family to be from the South, but I don't consider myself from the South. The longest I can ever remember being below the Mason-Dixon line before moving to college is two weeks!

So far the transition back to just the United States after living overseas for seven years has been an interesting one. But there are so many more things that are special to the South that I'm learning to adjust to. And it's much harder than I thought! I've dealt with culture shock before, but this type feels completely new. What can I say? I'm bumbling along trying to acclimate to the South!

I hope you enjoy this peak into my adjustment to Southern living!
